Actor Wlater Koenig (1936-2026) has died. He passed away at his home in California.

He played Chekov on the original Star Trek. That will probably be the role for which he will be best remembered. He did an excellent job in that role.

But my favorite character that he played was Alfred Bester on Babylon 5. His character was the head of the Psy Corps, the organization that ruled, or tried to, all telepaths. That’s the character he is portraying int he picture.

The name is, of course, an homage to science fiction writer Alfred Bester, whose classic novel, The Demolished Man, dealt with telepaths. Koenig’s character on B5 was a villain. There was none of the silliness of Chekov’s character. The episodes featuring Koenig were some of the strongest in Babylon 5‘s run.

By all accounts, Koenig was a wonderful human being.

Adventures Fantastic extends condolences to Walter Koenig’s family and many fans.
