There’s a Kickstarter launching soon for a new publication entitled StoryHack Action and Adventure. It’s just what the name implies. Action and adventure stories from multiple genres, all with a pulp sensibility. Bryce A. Beattie is the editor/publisher. He has put together an Issue 0 prior to the Kickstarter launching.
Here is the lineup, in alphabetical order, by first name:
- Alexandru Constantin with “A Tiger in the Garden”
- David J. West with “King of Spades”
- Jay Barnson with “Dead Last”
- Julie Frost with “The Monster Without”
- Keith West with “The Chronicle of the Dark Nimbus”
- Jon Mollison with “Desert Hunt”
- Shannon Connor Winward with “Daughter of Heaven”
- Steve DuBois with “Menagerie”
- David Boop with “Turk and the Lost City”
You might recognize some of those names. *waves at David* Yes, that’s me, the fifth one down. I’m thrilled to be included in this anthology and am looking forward to reading the rest of the stories. You can be sure I’ll let you know more as launch date for the Kickstarter becomes available.
Well done!
Thank you, sir.
Cool.
Let us know when the Kickstarter fires up. I’ll want a copy.
You bet I will. I’m hoping this project takes off. It looks like it’s going to have a lot of fun reading.
Awesome Keith!
I talked to Bryce and Jay last week, (Jay and I did the writing Pulp Fiction class together at the League of Utah Writers spring conference) and Bryce turned up. Bryce was very excited for the project, he got quite a few submissions. He raved about Julie Frosts story, she does a lot of short fiction with werewolves – and a novel Pack Dynamics- that I still need to read.
Looking forward to this!
Congratulations to you on getting in as well. From what Bryce posted on his blog, the competition was stiff. I am definitely looking forward to this project. I’ve not read Julie Frost’s work, but it sounds like I’m going to have to.
This has the hallmarks of a quality publication. Looking forward to it! The Pulp resurgence is for real and y’all are helping to make it happen.
Yes, Bryce is doing some good work.
