I’d like to take a moment to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. This year has been hectic, with a lot of life getting in the way of blogging, reading, and writing. But I’m still here and not planning on going anywhere, even if my productivity is not as high as it has been in the past. I’m thankful to each and every one of you who reads these posts and follows me on Twitter. May your day be filled with family, friends, food, and thankfulness regardless of whether you celebrate this holiday or not.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. May yours be safe and filled with full and happy buccaneers.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve become more aware of the role of gratitude in my life, and particularly my need for it. When I focus on what I have and on God’s blessings, I find it easier to have a balanced outlook. When I look at things through a lens of thankfulness, I have a better perspective on the small irritations and disappointments.
Some of the things I’m thankful for:
The readers of this blog and the friendships I’ve made through it.
That I live in the greatest country in the history of the world.
The freedoms that come with living in the US.
For those who aren’t old enough to remember, here’s the clip of the classic episode of WKRP in Cincinnati the above image is from:
Among the things I’m thankful for are all the people who follow this blog or my others, as well as everyone who reads my posts at Amazing Stories or Black Gate. It’s nice having a platform to share my thoughts and engage in discussions about sword and sorcery, fantasy in general, science fiction, historical fiction, mystery and noir, and history. Even if I haven’t had time this semester to post as much as I’d hoped.
I hope all of you have a great day, whether you’re celebrating the holiday or not.
